The Lonely Sea

Click to Bid,  8 by 10 inches,  Acrylic on acid free illustration board
This painting is loosely based on vacation photos from last summer.  Painting the figure was somewhat tedious.  The values of the skin and clothing must align to make the painting work.

I enjoy the colors in this portrait.  The composition is also interesting.
I will be taking a break from painting on a daily basis.  I hope all my followers will continue to follow my work after I return in a few weeks.

Pin Up in Red with Marbles

Click to Bid,   8 by 10 inches,   Acrylic on acid free illustration board
Another painting in the trompe-loeil series.   To set up this still-life I placed a glass dish over a vintage pin-up and then positioned marbles on the glass.

Dancing with Myself

Click to Bid   8 by 12 inches,   Acrylic on acid free illustration board
The title to this painting is from a Billy Idol song.   I decided to keep the background in cool colors to compliment the warms of the figure.  The background is done with Spectrum Art Tissue which bleeds color when moistened.  The photo references of the figure are from the website characterdesigns.com.
