Port's Place (Sunday Morning)

Click to Bid, 15 by 20 inches, Acrylic on acid free illustration board
To me this painting represents an example of "Photorealism" as it developed in the 1960s. Many of the artists from that period painted everyday street scenes.

Early morning is always my favorite time to take reference photos for my artwork. The water is almost impressionistic in this painting.

Quarry Workers Local

Click to bid,   12 by 20 inches,    Acrylic on acid free illustration board
While on vacation this past summer I photographed this building.  The early morning light on the aging structure reminded me of an Edward Hopper painting.

Morning Wait

Not for Sale      15 by 20 inches,     Acrylic on acid free illustration board,
I used soft edges in this painting to produce a hazy light appearance.   There's a theory that paintings of kitchenware tend to bring back pleasant feelings from one's childhood.

Morningside Tulip

Click to Bid               8 by 10 inches,            Acrylic on acid free illustration board
My wife and I will occasionally be outside in the early morning hours.  I will sometimes say "It's great light out this morning."  When I first started saying this she was very puzzled.  After explaining it from the artist's viewpoint she understood.  It refers to a certain clear visibility.  This light is exceptionally well suited for photography and painting. This tulip was painted with that light shining.

Nude With Morning Light

Sold                8 by 10 inches,              Acrylic on acid free illustration board.
The colors in this painting are suggestive of morning light.  To accomplish that I purposely made the yellows strong.
