This painting is based on some reference photos from a recent vacation to the Great Lakes.
My paternal grandmother was born in 1907 and spent her first few decades of life without the luxury of electricity. She would always refer to a window as a "window light." I remember her saying "careful playing ball near the house so you don't break out a window light." Hence the title of my new painting.
