This top's theme is the children's song "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush."  I had originally planned for a lighter background.  However, due to the lighter colored top I decided to make the background the darker orange.

He Loves Me He Loves Me Not

This is another painting in the "3-D meets 2-D series".  The background is actually a toy metal tray from a children's play set from the 1950's.  I positioned the Fisher Price figure in front of the tray as I painted the still life.

This is the second painting for this top.  With the majority of the upper top being white I wasn't sure what to expect during the painting process.  It's more difficult to show reflections in the white.  However, I think the end result looks fine.

I've painted this top several times before.  This version is done on panel.  I thought the combination of the darkness and the reflection worked well.

I found this vintage top at a flea market last weekend.   It has some tarnish, bumps and scratches.  Some of these I painted into the artwork.
