Boating is Fun

Click to Bid, 16 by 20 inches, Acrylic on wood panel

My grandson and I were a flea market several years ago when I purchased this vintage Little People

boat. I told him we would try to float it on the pond at our estate. Unfortunately, that never happened. Now he is probably too old to enjoy playing with toys of this type. I decided to use the boat in my latest "Little People" painting.

Family Portrait by the Barn

This is another piece in the "Little People" series. It seems this one has a more surrealistic look.

The "Little People" series continues. I totally enjoy painting shiny surfaces with the airbrush.

Little People Get-Together

22 by 30 inches, Acrylic on wood panel

I decided to do another "Little People" painting that presented a greater challenge. The exterior of the house was the most difficult.

JR

Click to Bid, 5 by 7 inches, Acrylic on wood panel

I always thought this Little People's name was "JR" which was short for Junior.  However, I recently did some research and found his name to be "Butch." To me he will always be "JR."

Happiness is on the Farm

Click to Bid, 16 by 24 inches, Acrylic on acid free illustration board

I grew up on a farm in rural Missouri during the 1950s and 1960s while my family lived with my paternal grandparents. My grandfather always wore a wide brimmed hat, and my grandmother often wore a bonnet when working outside. This painting reflects that feeling of contentment.

The Little Family Portrait

 Click to Bid,
16 by 30 inches, Acrylic on wood panel

I purchased a 1960s doll house several years ago. Besides my granddaughters playing with it when they were small, I've used it as a background for several paintings. In this piece I once again used it as a background for the little people family portrait. I used freehand airbrush in the background to make it appear softer and more distant.

Sis is Always Happier

Click to Bid, 6 by 6 inches, Acrylic on wood panel

Working on wood panel is a bit different than working on illustration board. However, layering paint is easier with wood panel.
