I found this toy land "little people" radio at a flea market recently. I liked the bright colors, so I decided to use it in my latest painting.

The "Retro Still-life" series continues with my latest painting titled after an early 1970's song. For many Boomers this was a welcome site at the beginning of each day.
Truetone was a brand of electronics sold by Western Auto. Growing up my parents owned and operated a small hardware store in our hometown selling some Western Auto products. This is my latest painting in the "Reto Series."
My latest painting depicts a couple of flea market finds with the radio as my most recent acquisition.
I purchased this transistor radio a few months ago at a local flea market. I had purchased the Yellow Submarine to keep in the package as a collectible. However, my three-year-old grandson insisted on removing the toy from the package so he could play with it. Since I already had a Ringo toy, I put the toys and radio together to produce this painting.
Another painting in the "Retro" series. This portable AM radio was powered by a small 9-volt battery. For many teenagers, myself included, it was one of the few forms of entertainment during the 1960s.
A recent acquisition from a local flea market is depicted in my latest still life painting.
