Song on the Radio

Click to Bid, 8 by 10 inches, Acrylic on acid free illustration board

I purchased this transistor radio a few months ago at a local flea market. I had purchased the Yellow Submarine to keep in the package as a collectible. However, my three-year-old grandson insisted on removing the toy from the package so he could play with it.  Since I already had a Ringo toy, I put the toys and radio together to produce this painting.

Portable AM Radio

Click to Bid, 11 by 13 inches, Acrylic on acid free illustration board

Another painting in the "Retro" series. This portable AM radio was powered by a small 9-volt battery. For many teenagers, myself included, it was one of the few forms of entertainment during the 1960s.

Magnavox Transistor

Another retro painting featuring an old transistor radio. I thought a bright colorful background would work well with the grayish-brown transistor.

Transistor

(Sold), 8 by 10 inches, Acrylic on acid free illustration board
Growing up in the 1960s the transistor radio was a godsend for a teenager who enjoyed music. The radios usually came with an ear plug so you had the option of listening to the AM radio in private.
