Sold   6.5 by 10.5 inches,   Acrylic on acid free illustration board
I couldn't resist painting this window because of the red shutters and brick.

Sorry We're Closed

Sold            7 by 10 inches,                Acrylic on acid free illustration board
I find painting the cast shadow of tree foliage difficult.  The values and colors tend to vary.  For example in this painting the cast shadows of the leaves appear almost blue on the white door while on the sidewalk the shadows are very dark.

Rose Window

Click to Bid    7 by 10 inches,  Acrylic on acid free illustration board.
My Dad built a house for our family in 1958 that is similar to the house pictured in this painting. At that time the slate siding was very popular.  It meant never having to do any maintenance on the exterior of the home. Unfortunately from experience I know that a well hit baseball would crack the siding.

The Old Hardware Store

Click to bid       8 by 10 inches     Acrylic on acid free illustration board,
This building is located in my hometown of Chamois, Missouri.  It's actually a long narrow structure that at one time during the 1950's and 1960's housed a lumber and hardware.  The building is located next to the railroad tracks and lumber was delivered by rail.  Today the building stands vacant.

When October Goes

Click to Bid           16 by 20 inches,         Acrylic on acid free illustration board
This is a larger piece that I painted a few years ago and decided to "go back in" and slightly readjust some of the colors.  This autumnal painting always suggests to me the foreboding feeling of the imminent winter that lies ahead.

This is a building façade in the small historic town of Arrow Rock, Missouri.  The reflections in the windows were my incentive for painting this piece.

Indian Summer Window

Click to buy,                  7 by 10 inches,            Acrylic on acid free illustration board
I recently told a friend that I would never do a painting of a window scene again.  Here I am with a new painting of a window.  I couldn't resist painting this one after seeing the reference photos. The photos were taken in the small historic town of Arrow Rock, Missouri.  The town has a long history related to the early frontier.  American artist George Caleb Bingham actually lived there at one time.

Window Into Summer

Sold           11 by 14 inches          Acrylic on acid free illustration board.
Summer shadows from tree branches and leaves have always interested me.  In this facade painting I've captured the look of those shadows.
