Not for sale 16 by 20 inches, Acrylic on panel
I usually don't "pull any punches" when painting a self-portrait. I tend to paint what I see without trying to make myself look younger or with less blemishes, etc., This is "I think" the sixth self-portrait I've painted. One reason I and many artists tend to paint self-portraits is that we have the model in front of us for free. In addition we don't have to be concerned the person we are painting will be dissatisfied with the artwork.

Portrait of the Artist (As a Commuter)
Not for Sale 15 by 15 inches, Acrylic on illustration board,
I did this piece to combine my self-portrait with a touch of humor. Over the years I spent at least an hour each day traveling to and from the school where I taught. I think this painting typifies my life at that time.
