This painting depicts a top I recently purchased at a local flea market. I enjoy painting tops because of the bright colorful characters and the reflection of the shiny metal surface.

Mickey Top
My latest find from a recent flea market visit was this vintage Ohio Art Mickey Mouse top.
I went outdoors to sit up the still life to take advantage of the morning sun light.

Circus Spinner in Shadows
This is the second painting for this top. With the majority of the upper top being white I wasn't sure what to expect during the painting process. It's more difficult to show reflections in the white. However, I think the end result looks fine.

Circus Spinner
I just purchased this vintage toy top at a local flea market. It has some tarnish but my main concern was the color brilliance. I reproduced some of the minor tarnish in the painting.
