The metal façade pictured in my latest painting was a common siding used around the turn of the nineteenth century. In was created to replicate the look of stone.

Window in Blackwater
I travelled to the small historic town of Blackwater, Missouri last fall. This painting is based on reference photos taken there. My favorite element in this painting is the orange brick contrasting with the bright blue of the window reflection.

Decoration Day
This painting of an American flag reminds me of my youth. It was common to see flags displayed in this manner as I was growing up especially on Memorial Day. My grandmother always called it "Decoration Day."
