Growing up in the 1950s we lived in a large two story river bottom house that my grandfather had built in 1943. The house had electricity but no running water. The ceilings were high which provided for a somewhat cooler structure during the hot muggy Missouri summers. This painting depicts a large window that is reminiscent of the farm house where I lived.
