Morning Tide
During our recent visit to the beach I was always up early before anyone in our family. I took numerous photos of beach scenes. This painting is based on some of those photos.

Summer Find
This painting involved several different techniques for color application. I used an airbrush to paint the large shell. The toothbrush spatter technique was employed to paint the specks of sand. Lastly a conventional brush was used to apply highlights to the sea foam.

Being a landlocked Missourian the ocean has always held a certain mystic for me. On our family vacations to the ocean I always photographed numerous scenes. This painting is based on some of those photos.
