Nude Study with Shadows

Sold            8 by 10 inches,            Acrylic on acid free illustration board,
This painting was quite the challenge.  When using acrylic I work in a light color to dark color process. The dark colors are applied last.  This is the same technique used by most traditional watercolor artists. In this artwork I kept gradually applying darker skin tones.  I was concerned I would get too dark.  Once that occurs it is difficult to correct the problem.  After some very careful color application I was successful in applying those last few layers of dark skin shadows.
