This
painting depicts a marquee in a Mississippi River town. On my first visit to the restaurant many years ago I ordered
the catfish plate. The waitress asked if
I preferred river catfish or farm raised.
I then knew that they were serious about the fish they served. The business no longer exists, and the
marquee has long since been removed.
I painted
this piece several years ago but couldn’t say that I was totally happy with it. So, I decided to “go in” and repaint parts of
the painting. I can now say that I’m completely
satisfied with the painting.
