Cherry Blossom

Click to bid             8 by 10 inches,    Acrylic on acid free illustration board
This is a painting of a cherry blossom from our fruit tree orchard.  In the mid-1990's my grandmother gave me two small cherry trees.  They were not more than 18 inches in length when we dug them out of the ground and replanted them in our orchard.  The trees grew quickly and produced gallons of sour cherries.  Many pies were made with their produce.  In December of 2007 a crippling ice storm caused damage that killed one of the trees.  The other had many broken branches but somehow survived.  This painting is based on photos from that tree.
