A Van Gogh Night

"A Van Gogh Night"   5 by 7 inches, acrylic on panel
This painting is another in the series of moon risings.  I used the simple technique of applying paint to a toothbrush to spatter the stars.  I was very concerned about spacing of the trees.  I wanted to avoid any appearance of uniformity in the spacing.  I positioned the moon slightly to the right of the traditional "rule of thirds" placement.
I soon will be using my blog to explain the airbrush process using photos in a step by step progression.   I also want to talk about why I paint and the thought process I use in taking a painting from conception to finished artwork.
